Make me a promise

Sewing night cannot involve creating any of these clothes. {or anything similar} Please.
See you tonight!

Sublime Stitching

Sublime Stitching is quite frankly the most fun thing I've come across lately. There are loads of things to see, do, and buy. They have a stitching groups page where you can submit your own group. What say you?

Happy I found you, Alice

Last Night

Stitches did not end up being much of a priority last night. Instead, I got {kind of} caught up on some cutting that has been on the back burner for a while. Vegas did practice his running stitch, and made himself a mask, which he ended up wearing all night by mistake. Homework for me, is to figure out the particulars of this page.

Still cutting.

This Weeks Lesson: Stitches

This week we will go over the first portion of Chapter 14 in 'Clothing for Women' entitled 'Constructive Process: Stitches'. As there are many variations within this chapter, we shall start with the first two stitches presented - the running stitch, and stitching. Beginning at image 0241, and ending at image 0248 {just before the section on back stitching} in the Clothing for Women photo album.

You will need only a needle and thread.

Someone needs to buy this.

Located in Burien, this is free. I am a serious fan of the vintage Brother sewing machines, since they kick ass. {Stephenny, stop shaking your head} If someone doesn't go pick this up right now I might cry. I found it on Craigslist, where else?

Monday Night, Seven O' Clock.

Sewing day starts next week. I have thought about it for months now, and am finally planning it.
I have six, possibly seven spots available {complete with sewing machines, coffee and treats} for those of you who may want to stop by and whip up a handbag, apron, potholder, dress or something more.

Let me know if you have any ideas for projects, or what to work on, I will be doing research this week.

What to bring:
Fabric for your project {if you can't, I have plenty for you to pick from}
A spool of thread that matches your material {I have thread too}
A notebook {hey, I have these too!}

What we will do:
Work on a project {to be determined}
Improve technical sewing skills {everyone is welcome, even if you know nothing at all...}
Take notes on what we are working on, so that the next week all is not forgotten
Post photos of our projects

Till Monday, Alice
